About Stephenie
- What kind of experience do you have?
I started teaching the piano and music theory in 2002, giving lessons to pupils of different ages and levels. I also started teaching as a part-time language (Cantonese, Mandarin, EFL and beginner's French) since 2005. I have extensive performing experience as a pianist and chamber musician around Europe and in Hong Kong.

- Tell me about some of your current students.
They're aged between 5 and mid-40's and are all great to work with. I have some of the most hard-working and enthusiastic students and they're all progressing very well. They all learn at a different pace and their lessons are all tailor-made. Our lessons are as fun and relaxing as can be and yet, I make sure everyone works hard and I have high expectations of my students. All in all, I enjoy teaching my current students.

I'm a British-Chinese pianist, born in Hong Kong and I am now based in Glossop, Derbyshire, working as a performing artist, piano and music theory tutor. I also work as a Cantonese tutor and interpreter.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the piano, music theory and Cantonese Chinese.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a Master's degree in Music (Piano Performance) from the Royal Northern College of Music and a BMus (Hons) from University of Leeds, I am a native Chinese speaker and I also have a TEFL qualification.
- How much do you charge?
Piano & Music theory lessons:
£15 (30 minutes, at my residence) £20 (30 minutes, at student's residence in Chorlton)
£23 (45 minutes, at my residence)
£30 (60 minutes, at my residence or student's residence in and around Glossop)
Cantonese Chinese lessons:
£25 (60 minutes, in a cafe in Manchester, in or around Glossop)
- Where do you teach?
I teach the piano mainly in my home studio in Glossop and will be willing to consider travelling to your place if you live in Glossop or Hadfield. I also teach one day a week in Manchester and Chorlton (Greater Manchester). I teach Cantonese at cafes in Glossop or Manchester.
- When are you available?
I teach on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 9am to 7:30pm. I teach during school terms, half-terms, Easter and summer holidays. (I don't teach over Christmas holiday.)
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Piano: I teach pupils of all ages (from 4) and all levels - complete beginners to advanced students at Music College level.
Music Theory: Grade 1-5
Cantonese Chinese: I teach pupils of all ages and levels.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM Piano exams (Prep Test - Grade 8) and Grade 5 Music Theory
Piano exams at diploma levels

I do not teach online.
