Personal Message: I aim to inspire and motivate my students. I try to make lessons enjoyable and stimulating, I encourage students to think and work things out for themselves, so that they may practice productively.
Which subject(s) do you teach?: I teach Cello beginner to advanced and Piano beginner to intermediate.
Tell me about your qualifications.: I trained at the Royal Northern College of Music, where I obtained my BMus Honours, P.G Diploma in Performance, and MMus in Performance.
What kind of experience do you have?: I began teaching in my final years at college and have taught for various music services, such as Ealing, Waltham Forest, and Westminster (ongoing). I also teach at Orley Farm Primary School, in Harrow
I coach various string orchestra's and groups and run a Cello Club in Westminster.
How much do you charge?: I charge £30 per hour from home.
Where do you teach?: Most of my private teaching is from home.
When are you available?: I am available anytime Monday, Thursday and Friday. I can also be available Saturday mornings.
Which ages and levels do you teach?: I teach all ages from beginner to advanced.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?: I am used to preparing and taking my students through the graded exams (ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall).
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?: I have a CRB from Ealing, Waltham Forest and Westminster Music Services.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?: I belong to ISM and MAS.

Cello Playing

I was told by my first cello teacher that even the most accomplished of performers need to constantly review the mechanics of cello playing. I was delighted to hear that Tortelier himself, needed to play open strings to check that his bow was straight before recording pieces of music, often live on radio.
