About Sarah
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching Geography for 6 years after acquiring my Geography degree, PGCE and Masters from Durham University. I work in a high achieving secondary school and last year worked as Head of Geography. I have experience teaching and tutoring students across the full ability range, and have a wealth of resources. I have worked as an A-level examiner, and can therefore offer advice and guidance about exam technique and ways in which to achieve top marks for specific types of question. My previous students have made significant progress, often improving by 1-2 grades, and many have therefore chosen to continue to study Geography at A-level or university. I also tutor online using a professional tutoring site and have many resources suitable for online teaching.
During my lessons I focus on ensuring that students understand the course content whilst also developing exam technique. I teach content through visual and audio resources, worksheets and interactive activities. Students also work through practice papers and complete exam questions. I also improve exam technique by ensuring students understand how their work will be assessed.
