About Sarah
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been tutoring in mathematics and reading and writing since I was in the sixth form at school to help younger students. I started tutroing in flute and music theory whilst studying at university as a hobby and have continued ever since. Friends of my parents have recruited me to help their children study in the run up to GCSEs.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I recently joined the police as a voluntary special constable so I do have a CRB check.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
My current student is a nine year old girl. I have been teaching her for about nine months now and she has converted from a timid quiet girl to a confident enthusiastic player. Hopefully she will be ready to take her grade 1 exam by the end of this year.

I am a bubbly, approachable person, always happy to help and to try new ways of tackling subjects and making them more interesting. I have been tutoring for several years now in various subjects and would like to think I am well liked and have got good results.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
My main subject is Flute as I have played since I was seven and thoroughly enjoy it. I also tutor in Mathematics and Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) as well as Music Theory.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Forensic Sciences which involved a lot of chemistry. I have A Level qualifications in Biology, Chemistry and Music, A S Levels in Mathematics and German and GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry, English Language and Literature, French, German, Mathematics, Music, Physics and Welsh. I am also a qualified first aider.
- How much do you charge?
The fees I have listed are negotiable depending on the travelling involved. If the prospective student is local i.e. in Carmarthen then the fees may be reduced. All fees are negotiable.
- Where do you teach?
I live in Carmarthen. I can teach at home if necessary but most of my students prefer to be taught in their homes which I also cater for. I would be willing to travel up to a 4 mile radius from Carmarthen up to and including Llanelli. The distance would affect my fees.
- When are you available?
At the moment I am juggling three jobs with varied rota systems so my hours are not fixed. This is a temporary problem which I will fix in the near future. Currently Tuesday nights after 6 are free but for now lessons would have to be organised on an individual basis until the end of the school summer holidays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I will teach students of any age. Most of my subjects I can teach up to GCSE level with the exception of Bioloogy and Chemistry which I can go up to A Level. With regards to the flute I can prepare student for practical exams up to grade 6 comfortably.
