About Rosalind
- What kind of experience do you have?
For singing, I have been teaching for about 5 years, working mainly with adults who have come back to singing after many years, or who have never sung before. I have entered students for the ABRSM exams with success.
For marketing, I have worked for bluechip companies such as 3M and Sanford (Parker Pens) and in the not-for-profit sector for an international development charity. I am also a consultant for smaller businesses and community groups.
I have much experience of public speaking throughout my business life, as well as at conferences covered by the media and broadcast on the BBC. I know what works well and what doesn't ! Elements such as breath control and the placing of the spoken voice are very related to the singing voice.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I am in the process of applying for Enhanced Disclosure through the Incorporate Society of Musicians.
- Where and with whom did you train?
For singing and public speaking, I trained with Trinity Laban College of Music and Dance.
For marketing, I trained with the CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing).
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
Yes, I belong to the Incorporate Society of Musicians, the Association of Teachers of Singing and Equity.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
My current singing students are a lovely bunch ! Many of them have sung in choirs in the past, and now want to develop a more solid vocal technique, but some are total beginners to singing - and doing really well !

I am an experienced singing teacher, who specialises in female voices, although happy to teach anyone ! We will work in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to achieve the goals that are important to you.

- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have an Masters in Music, specialising in vocal performance. I also have worked in marketing for 10 years and am CIM qualified.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £35 an hour, and £17.50 for 30 minutes.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at my home in Hanworth, near Twickenham, Middlesex. There is free parking and a bus stop right outside my house. I am also willing to travel to Twickenham, St Margarets, Richmond and East Sheen and surrounding areas of TW post codes.
- When are you available?
I am available to teach 10am-6pm Monday to Fridays. I am happy to work in half terms and holidays, but am unavailable for most of July 2013.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach singing from beginners to intermediate. Ideally I teach from 14+, but will consider secondary school aged children if they are keen !
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM graded singing exams
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
For marketing tutoring, I am happy to look at marketing plans or proposals via email. For example, in Microsoft Word, I can use the 'Track Changes' tool to make comments in line with the text.
