About Katherineq
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have studied music from a very early age, initially studying at the Royal Academy of Music playing the Violin and Viola. I am now studying for a Vocal Studies degree.
I have sung with Surrey Youth Choir (SYC) for many years performing in huge venues across the country.
I have also attended many Eton choral courses where my skills and love for chamber and choral singing was developed
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
No - But looking to complete one in the near future.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I am currently studying with Professor Susan McCulloch FGSM ARCM (Hons) at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM).

Thank you for showing interest. I am studying at the Guildhall School at the moment and absolutely know what it is like to be starting on a musical journey. I have a passion for performing and passing on my knowledge and enthusiasm.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
Voice- I primarily work with classical repertoire incorporating help in all areas; phonetic transcription, translations, performance etiquette and confidence.
I am also happy to coach musical theatre repertoire as well.
Violin - I teach from beginner to grades 5&6. I specialise in working with young children interested in starting their musical journey on a stringed instrument. I am also very supportive of the Suzuki method and Kodaly
Reading & Spelling - I am happy to provide sessions in my home based in SE1 for students looking for help with their reading and/or spelling skills. I work with very young children who are just starting to read, throughout primary school age, right up to GSCE level who are perhaps looking to build confidence reading aloud or expanding their vocabulary or having difficulty due to dyslexia.
I am also flexible with time periods, as for very small children, solidly reading for a long period of time can be ineffective.

I am currently a student at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama studying Classical Voice.
I have all appropriate GCSE & A-Level qualifications.

30 Minutes - £20
1 hour - £30 (includes zones 1-2 travel)
Violin -

(Study sessions of 2 hours £50)
- Where do you teach?
I prefer to teach in my students' homes. In order to make the most of your lessons, the use of a piano or keyboard is ideal, however, if this is not possible at your home, alternatives can be discussed or arrangements can be made for lessons to be held in an equipped studio elsewhere.
Reading - I am happy to provide sessions in my own home based in SE1, London or travel to the student's home. (Zones 1-2 FREE Zones 3- EXTRA CHARGE).
- When are you available?
I am available to teach on weekday evenings and on weekends during term time with weekends being preferable for me.
School holidays- I am available to teach during school holidays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Violin- I am happy to teach from absolute beginner to approximately ABRSM Grade 5&6.
Singing - I am happy to take on students of all levels up to a level for auditioning for a conservatoire/university.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I am happy to prepare my students' for exams they wish whether this be ABRSM or Trinity Guildhall Graded exams. I also do general audition preparation
