- Personal Message
- As someone who loves music and plays the violin professionally, I enjoy teaching and passing on my knowledge and enthusiasm to those who are eager to learn. I believe that it is possible for everyone to enjoy the benefits of playing an instrument to a high level if they put energy and passion into it, and I love to watch my students excel!
I offer a half price consultation, which gives you the opportunity to discuss any questions and agree on a plan of action. So if you're interested, please contact me. - Which subject(s) do you teach?
- Violin and music theory.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a Bachelor's of Music Degree from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I studied with Catherine Lord (a former pupil of the legendary Ivan Galamian).
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I started teaching at the age of 18, and have taught a huge range of pupils, from the very young to the 40+ year beginners. I often prepare pupils for Assosiated Board Exams (Grades 1-8) and A level practical exams, as well as teaching those who just want to learn to play for their own pleasure.
- How much do you charge?
- My fees are 20.00 for half an hour and 35.00 for an hour. There's an additional 3.00GBP for travel to a pupil's home.
- Where do you teach?
- I mainly teach at home, but can travel to a student's home if needed. I can travel to Blackheath, Maze Hill, Deptford, Lewisham,Westcomb Park and Central London.
- When are you available?
- I prefer to teach mainly Monday to Friday afternoons/evenings, but can do occasional weekends, if no other alternative can be found.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- All ages and levels welcome!
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- Assosiated Board of Royal Schools of Music - ABRSM
GCSE & A level performance - Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- No.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- Member of the Musician's Union.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I was born and braught up in Bulgaria until the age of 11, when I was scouted by the late professor Yfrah Neeman, and given a full scholarship at the prestigeous specialist music school Wells Cathedral. While at Wells, and later at the Guildhall School of Music (BMus) I studied with Catherine Lord, who was one of the few and highly elite students of Ivan Galamian (whose students also included Itzack Perlman).
