About Thomas
- What kind of experience do you have?
Advanced professional level performance experience in the fields of musical theatre, opera and classical music. As well as a teacher, I am a working Musical Theatre and opera actor/singer, on a freelance basis. I have performed both nationally and internationally in all of the major concert halls in Britain and have teaching experience from age 5 until professional level- I have also taught various adult classes. I have taught on foundation courses, at sunday schools, privately and for institutions such as Laine Theatre Arts.

Welcome to my page! I hope you will find that I am able to help you or your child to fulfil their potential within the performing arts. Please do not hesitate to get in contact, I am will to travel to most areas of Central and North London.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
Music. Specifically violin to Grade 8, Classical and Musical Theatre singing to advanced professional level (including professional diplomas), Music theory - Grade 5 coaching, GCSE and A-Level.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I gained a BMus(hons) degree in vocal and operatic studies at Birmingham Conservatoire, where I also trained as a professional violinist to (approx) Licentiate level. I then trained at Laine Theatre Arts on a Betty Laine Scholarship, where I was the recipient of the outstanding performance prize (Pampas Award).
- How much do you charge?
I charge £20 for half an hour and £35 per hour. If you prefer to be taught at your home and it is a relatively long way from Woodside Park (where I live), I may charge an additional £5 for travel expenses. I charge £18 for half an hour and £30 per hour for violin, purely as I have slightly fewer qualifications on paper in that field, although I am professionally trained and an experienced teacher in both areas.
- Where do you teach?
I will happily teach at your homes (so long as you either have a piano or backing tracks to sing along to), I will also teach in Woodside Park and possibly at Dance Attic, in Fulham - depending on demand.
- When are you available?
I am available daytimes, any day of the week.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Age 5 to adult. Happy to teach to advanced professional level and also happy to teach keen adult beginners.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
GCSE & A-Level music (although I will not enter the students myself, I will only tutor as 'additional help' to their school provision)
Graded ABRSM and LCM exams for singing until (and including) professional diplomas
Graded ABRSM exams for violin up to (and including) Grade 8
Drama School/Music College/Musical Theatre College auditions
