About Nicky

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have ten years experience teaching all three instruments to students from the age of six to eighteen as well as university students and adult learners. I have taught students from beginner to advanced levels and am comfortable teaching syllabi for both the Associated Board and Trinity examinations. I also currently work as an education co-ordinator for The Amadè Players, delivering large-scale education projects and workshops to school children across South-East London and introducing them to historically-informed performance.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

Yes, I hold several up-to-date enhanced DBS/CRB certificates.

- Where and with whom did you train?

I studied at Birmingham University and Goldsmiths College with Dr. Devorina Gamalova. I have also studied with Peter Poole, Levine Andrade and Khac-Uyen Nguyen as well as participating in masterclasses with Nathaniel Vallois, Nic Pendlebury, Matthew Trusler, Nick Fallowfield, Susanne Stanzaleit and Alexander Ivashkin.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

It doesn't matter whether you are a complete beginner or if you have studied in the past and would like to make a return to lessons. Anybody can learn to play an instrument, from young children to adults. It's never too late to learn! As an instrumental teacher, I relish the opportunity of being able to share my passion for the subject and hopefully, in doing so, inspire the next generation of musicians.
