About Marc
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have 7 years of experience. I have taught mostly private lessons but I do also have group and school experience.
I am currently a peripatetic violin & viola teacher at the Frederick Bremer School in London.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes I have a DBS check up to date issued on 19th of January 2014.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I first went to study at the Purcell School with Evgeny Grach. I then went on to study in London at the Royal College of Music where I took lessons with professors Yossi Zivoni for one year and four years with Itzhak Rashkovsky. Besides my individual violin lessons I also participated in Masterclasses throughout Europe, Israel and in the U.S.
I have also worked with some of the finest conductors and musicians such as Simon Rattle, Lorin Maazel, Vladimir Jurowski, Bernard Haitink and many others.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a violinist at the Southbank Sinfonia Alumni and Peripatetic Violin & Viola teacher at Frederick Bremer School

I am an experienced, friendly, professional and dedicated teacher. I have been teaching for many years and have gained the experience to inspire and motivate students to achieve not only good grades but a unique enjoyment for the world of music.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
My expertise lies in violin/viola teaching and I also have experience teaching chamber music groups and coaching ensembles of different combinations.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- MMus, Master degree in Music from the Royal College of Music.
- BMus (Hons), Bachelor of Music degree with honors from the Royal College of Music
- AS and A levels from the Purcell School of Music.
- How much do you charge?
- £20 per 30 min.
- £35 per hour/ if student lives locally.
- £40 per hour/ if student lives outside SW.
- Where do you teach?
I teach around the South West area of London, preferably Southfields, Putney, Earl's Court, Chelsea, Wimbledon, Clapham Junction and the Wandsworth Council area.
Although these are my preferable areas of teaching please do enquire if you are interested and are from a different area.
- When are you available?
I am quite flexible with times, however afternoons 3pm- 8pm Monday to Sunday are preferred.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I have experience teaching students of all ages, from young beginners to motivated adults that want to keep learning to play music.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare students for ABRSM grade exams, support during school music studies and for Music College Examinations.
This of course depends on what the student requires and what kind of ambition he/she has.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I encourage students who are passionate to engage with what they do and the music they play, to share it with others, perform with fellow musicians (even if not on the stage) and do it seriously, with consistency and vigor. Most importantly they should feel happy and privileged to be doing what they love.
