About Triona
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught at the Junior Department at the Royal Academy of Music as a string tutor specializing in chamber music.
I have taught at the Hill House International in Sloane Square and Imperial College London.
I am a freelance viola player in London, mostly playing with orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Orchestras and various chamber orchestras. I have performed live with Katy Perry, Elton John and Gary Barlow to name but a few!
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I am happy to apply for a DBS if required.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I trained at the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College in London. I studied with Matthew Souter and Suzie Meszaros respectively. I received the LRAM certificate for pedagogy at the Academy.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I have a range of students at the moment, some budding beginner violinists and a viola player who studies Maths at Imperial College!

I teach violin and viola to all ages. I love teaching group lessons and chamber music coaching also.

LRAM
- How much do you charge?
Prices start at £20 per half hour.£40 per hour. Travel costs can be discussed with individuals in due course. Consultation lessons are at a reduced rate.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at my home in Forest Hill. It is a short walk from both Sydenham and Forest Hill stations and a 5 minute bus from Penge East station. It is very easy to get to from Catford, Lewisham, Ladywell, Honor Oak Park etc. It is very well connected with regular trains and buses.
- When are you available?
I have a very flexible schedule and I am open to discussing suitable times with students.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages. I teach violin at beginner level to grade 8 standard and viola from beginner to advanced level,
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I am happy to prepare students for ABRSM exams. I also have experience of Suzuki training. I am happy to teach any method suggested by the student if there are any preferences!
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I am happy to conduct lessons on Skype

I would be happy to discuss options with students on the phone and arrange a trial lesson.
