- I am a qualified secondary maths teacher. I tutor from my home in Hazel Grove during the day, evenings and weekends.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach Secondary Maths GCSE, Maths iGCSE, Advanced Maths, Functional Skills, Maths A level (not Statistics)
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have A-grades in Maths GCSE (plus extension), Maths A level, Further Maths A level. I have a degree in Maths and Computation, and a PGCE in Secondary Maths.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have tutored part-time since April 2003, but have taken it to my full-time job since September 2010.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge £25 per hour for GCSE / KS3 and £30 per hour for A level
- Where do you teach?
- I teach from my home in Hazel Grove only.
- When are you available?
- I tutor during the day (10am-3pm) and evenings (4pm, 6pm or 8pm) and Saturday mornings. During school holidays it varies - usually I reschedule students to come during the school day.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- Age 11 - 25: KS3 - KS5 (i.e. Year 7 up to A level)
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- GCSE, iGCSE, Further Maths iGCSE, Advanced Maths, Functional Skills Maths.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- I am a member of the NUT
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I trained at Manchester University, with placements at Manchester High School for Girls and Parrswood Technology College.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- My current students are Year 9 - Year 13. I have a good mix of male / female, coming from independent schools and local comprehensives, and grammar schools. I am teaching a couple of students at Foundation level, aiming for a C in their GCSE, and several who are aiming for A*. At A level, my students this year have mainly required Core maths (C1-C4).
