- Personal Message
- I am currently in my fourth year at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I love playing the cello, whether it be on a big or small stage or even just in my room! I hope that my teaching inspires others to enjoy it as much as I do.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach the Cello and Chamber music.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- 10 GCSE's - 5As 5A*s 1 AS level - (A-French) 3 A levels - (A- philosophy,A-Music, A-Theatre Studies)
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I teach cello to whole string classes as part of the Wider Opportunities scheme in a school in Islington. This involves teaching a class of approx. 30 children. Teaching them songs, rhythm games and kodaly and then teaching a group of about eight cellists together . I have also taught sport at two schools in York. I am part of the chamber tots at Wigmore Hall series with my quartet, which involves performing and then leading a workshop with the children and their parents afterwards. I have taught individual lessons to cellists who did grades when they were younger and who wanted to take up the cello later on in life. I also teach beginners.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge £30 an hour for both cello and chamber music. I would charge £20 for half an hour. If for any reason you need to cancel lessons you will need to let me know more than 24hours in advance otherwise you are still liable to pay for the lesson.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach at my pupils' homes in London. I am based at the Barbican and I'm willing to travel 40mins/within zone 3. If you would like lessons but you live further out I would charge an expenses fee.
- When are you available?
- I am available most days. Lesson times would be flexible. I can teach in the school holidays if lessons are booked in advance.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach any age. I teach cello from beginner to grade 8 and piano up to grade 5.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes I have a CRB certificate.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I am currently studying in my third year at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Pierre Doumenge.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- The most important thing about music is to enjoy it! I will try and make it as enjoyable as possible for you.
