- I am an easy going, fun person who enjoys playing the trumpet. I have played in concerts all over the world and have a keen interest in teaching and education. Playing music should be fun and interesting at all times.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I specialise in teaching the trumpet and cornet.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I first studied at Trinity College of Music, finishing with a first class degree in performance. I then went on to study on a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music for my Masters.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have been playing the trumpet for over ten years, I am a freelance performer and have performed in many styles from baroque to pop music. I have participated in many education projects, working with some of the countries top orchestras and ensembles including BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, New London Orchestra and Superbrass brass ensemble. I have also taught the trumpet for the last 5 years in schools and privately.
- How much do you charge?
- £25 per hour Trumpet/Cornet
£15 per half hour Trumpet/Cornet
£30 per hour Brass Ensemble Coaching
I am happy to teach more than one student at a time and would be open to negotiation on price, depending on lesson duration/how many students - Where do you teach?
- I am happy to travel anywhere in London or teach at my own house in Greenwich.
- When are you available?
- I am very flexible and am willing to teach when is best for my students, I find from 4pm onwards on weekdays are best and I am willing to teach in the evenings and weekends.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- Beginner - Post Grade 8, Diploma level
As I specialise in the Trumpet and Cornet, I am more than comfortable teaching all levels and standards - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I am happy to working through TrinityGuildhall and the Associated Board (ABRSM) graded exams. However I believe that the most important element of playing music is to have fun, with preparing for grades being my for my students to decide.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I do have a CRB
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I have studied under some of the top trumpet players in the world including: James Watson, Rod franks, Brian Thomson, Robert Farley, Mark David, Andy Hendrie and Howard Snell
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- Playing the trumpet/cornet has been one of the most amazing things I have ever done, its fun, exciting and delivers a sense of achievement. I think it is most important to have fun and play music that 'you' enjoy, within my lesson's I am flexible towards what my students want to achieve.
