Personal Message
I work as a freelance peripatetic teacher, on a self employed basis and with various agencies across London. I have a diverse set of students, and cater my lessons to the needs of the individual or group.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
Piano (up to grade 8), and Singing (up to grade 8).

As well as taking students through grades, I also offer tuition and guidance in songwriting and performing.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have ABRSM Grade 8's in both Singing and Piano, and I'm currently working towards my ABRSM diplomas in Piano performance and Teaching respectively.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have 5 years of music teaching experience, and am used to working with students of all ages and abilities. I've worked with the learning impaired and have many students for whom English is not their first language.

I've had extensive training in teaching techniques and workshop skills, and my CV/qualifications are available on request.

On top of this, I've been playing music for the last 16 years, and have performed as a classical soloist in music festivals across the country, and also as part of various rock/indie/pop bands.
How much do you charge?
£30 per hour

The fee is per hour, not per student - duos and groups are welcome!

I charge extra for travel depending on your location, so make sure you let me know where you are.
Where do you teach?
I mostly teach from my home in Hackney Central but can travel to the surrounding areas of Homerton, Hackney Wick, Stratford, Clapton, Dalston, Stoke Newington, Shoreditch, and Victoria Park.
When are you available?
I have limited availability due to contracted teaching commitments, but I am always willing to make time for enthusiastic students.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
from the ages of 5+
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM and Trinity exams, GCSE and A levels, and auditions prep.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Pending - applied for on 23/04/2012
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
n/a
Tell me about some of your current students.
The majority of my students are still in compulsory education and are being taken through grade or GCSEs and have extra tutoring as an extra curricular activity. The second largest demographic of mine is adult learners, who come to me to pick up old skills or as a hobby.

Specifically with vocals, I also deal with a number of duos and groups that I help for audition preparation and recording purposes.
Do you have a personal message for students?
Learning music is a great way to challenge yourself, and is something everybody should try at least once in their life. Like learning a new language, it can take you places that you never dreamed possible.
