I have a PhD in Philosophy and am an experienced teacher. I have a proven academic record and come with outstanding references.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I specialise in teaching Philosophy at degree and A Level. I completed my MA in Paris while teaching English at a top French business school, so I also offer French and English as a Second Language. In addition, I tutor subjects related to philosophy, such as politics and religious studies.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a PhD in Philosophy from Reading University, an MA in Philosophy from the University of Paris VIII, and a BA from Reading.
What kind of experience do you have?
I am a co-lecturer on the MSc. course in Philosophy and Public Policy at the London School of Economics. I have also been a Graduate Teaching Assistant (seminar leader) at the LSE and at Reading University. I have successfully tutored a number of A Level and AS Level students in philosophy and theology (RS), and have four years' experience teaching English as a Second Language. I have devised and taught introductory philosophy courses from scratch, and have taught and examined a number of undergraduate level courses. My experience as an A Level tutor and in higher education makes me an ideal tutor for students thinking of applying to university.
How much do you charge?
£30 per hour.
Where do you teach?
I usually teach either at students' homes or at my own home in Brockley (SE4). I often travel to central London, but also to close by areas such as Greenwich, New Cross, Dulwich, or London Bridge.

Do you have a personal message for students?
Philosophy is one of the toughest subjects on offer, so it carries great rewards and high risks. Even for the most able students, having an experienced tutor is often the surest way to success. One to one teaching means I’ll always start from what you already understand, even if you think you’re completely lost. From there, we’ll move quickly up to the syllabus requirements and, if you feel like it, far beyond them.
